Day 3: Over the Mississippi and into Iowa

Good omens for San Francisco in our Davenport hotel.

Some curious architecture in the housing leading up to the town of Davenport, Iowa.

Win a Car at the Rhythm City Casino!

Critters near the water.

The Mississippi was overflowing, but that didn't prevent people from fishing!

A strangely modern overpass connects the casino to town.

A rear view of the Figge museum.

The town itself seemed to consist of nearly empty streets and lots of banks.

But we found this cool pizzeria where a band from Austin, Texas played for people on their lunch breaks. Photo by Raul.

Driving out of town...

More flooding.

Love the juxtaposition of cows and an adult superstore ad.

We saw two of these huge wind turbine blades being transported down the interstate.

A big storm came rolling in that rained so hard that most drivers pulled over to the side of the road...

Of course, Raul and I could only think of the possibility of a tornado!

Nebraska, home of Arbor Day!

Mysterious structures outside of Omaha.

Someone's getting hynpotized by the road!

Covered wagon golf store.

Gorgeous, summer sunset.

Arriving and Janie and Nikki's house, greeted by Tito the peacock.
